Don't mistreat your wounds - or your scars!

What is the difference between a wound and a scar? While it may seem like a pretty obvious question at first glance, wound healing is a gradual process and there will be periods in between when the line is not so clear - and that is also when many patients mistreat their injury.

Wound

Scar

Applying a wound treatment to a scar will not help to reduce the scar, and applying scar treatments while the injury is still a wound may interfere with the healing process.

If you are unsure of which stage your injury is at or what type of treatment to use, simply check for the following signs to find out!
